Resolved

Gym membership and participation goes way up in January and quickly fades away.  There is a famous road paved with good intentions.
Many people resolve in January to read the Bible cover to cover in a year.
Often, they get to Leviticus and all those laws, or to the so-and-so begat so-and-so, who begat so-and-so part and give up.
Reading random passages from the Bible doesn’t work out much better.
A better approach is to worship regularly.  We read the majority of the Bible, and all of the history of salvation, out loud every three years.
We do this in the context of a gathered and worshiping community.
This approach reminds us that the purpose of the Bible isn’t to give us information about Jesus, it’s to give us a living relationship with Jesus.
Let’s resolve to know that Jesus is our Savior and to know real life in him.
