SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:
Sally and I began co-producing these videos,
Streams of Living Water, at the beginning of the
global pandemic in March of 2020. We have now produced 217 videos, podcasts and
blogs!
We wanted to
provide a sense of connection and encouragement and an opportunity to reflect
about what it means to be a Christian when Christians were encouraged to stay
home, worship online, and yet stay connected.
Now, most
churches are back to at least some provisions for physically present worship. We
are still concerned by the variants and rising numbers of cases of the virus,
but we are wearing masks, getting vaccinated, maintaining social distancing and
the other things that show our love and care for one another. Christian
community life is returning in our churches.
I’ve been leading Sunday worship and
preaching at different churches, but I will be preaching every Sunday at the
same church, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Monterey Park, starting on June 1st.
And I will be serving there a few hours during the seek to help the
congregation get some traction as we emerge in to the New Normal. Sally will be
taking up a more active schedule as a docent at the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Museum
of Tolerance in L.A. and continuing her ecumenical activities at the same time.
Therefore, starting in June, we will be
going from two videos, podcasts and blogs each week to one of each. The one
video will be moving to Wednesdays, still at the same times: 11:15 a.m. on the “Streams
of Living Water” Facebook page, at 11:30 a.m. on the David Berkedal
Facebook page, and at 12 noon on our YouTube channel, “Streams of Living
Water”, with the podcast and blog to follow.
We hope that these videos, podcasts and/or
blogs have been helpful to you during what we hope is now the worst of the
pandemic. We look forward to continuing our service to you as we move forward
into whatever comes.
